Have you ever wondered why some people choose to be a professional photographer?
It’s easy, right? Anyone can do it, can’t they? All you need is a camera of some sort, point and shoot, right? Wrong! There are so many factors to take into consideration in creating individual pieces of art and that’s why I love what I do.
Here’s a few other reasons why being a professional photographer is my passion:
1. Being a photographer changes how you see everyday things
Colours, textures, shadows, people, shapes, and light all become more noticeable - in a way that most people never see them.
2. You pay more attention to the world around you
Even the most uninteresting object can become beautiful when you photograph it in a creative way. Many photographers love their job because they develop a fascination with the world around them by viewing it through new eyes.
3. It's an amazing creative outlet
You get the chance to put a touch of who you are into each and every photo you take. Anyone can click the button on a camera but not everyone can truly make a photo come to life.
4. It's a challenge
Creating amazing photos that capture the essence of who you and your family are in a magical way doesn’t come without hard work, dedication and imagination. There is always something new to explore and a new way to take the same photos.
5. You get to meet new people all the time
I work with people of all ages and from all walks of life. Getting to know someone new is a part of the process of bringing someone’s personality through into the photo. It also makes my job a lot more fun! People are interesting. They tell amazing stories about life and this intrigues me.
6. No two shoots are ever the same
I never really know what to expect prior to a photo shoot. It’s a job that never gets boring. Each photo shoot has so many different variables. It keeps me on my toes.
7. The flexibility is great
Being a full-time photographer means you get to work your own hours. This doesn’t mean it’s a laidback profession though. A lot of work goes on behind the scenes before and after a photo shoot.
8. I’m always learning
It’s taken me years of practice but like most professionals, I continue to learn to perfect my craft and better myself. This enables me to produce the best possible product for my clients.
When you decide to commission me for an in-studio photo session, know that you are hiring a professional who is passionate about what they do and is willing to go the extra mile to help you create beautiful photos that you can treasure forever.
I feel very lucky to be able to say that I love my job and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
